Cold Air, Pine, and a Little Rose

Kunlun Snowscape is built on contrast: pine and cypress give it the cold, high-altitude sharpness of a forest in winter, and then rose and jasmine arrive in the middle and warm it just enough to keep the room liveable. Cedar, amber and guaiac wood close it with a smoky, resinous depth — the smell of cold wood rather than cut flowers.

It is the most atmospheric scent we make, and the one that makes a large room feel like somewhere.

Cold Opening, Warm Middle

• Opening: bergamot, pine, cypress — cold, green, resinous
• Heart: rose, jasmine, cedar — floral warmth against the woods
• Dry-down: cedar, amber, guaiac wood — smoky and deep

Guaiac wood is what makes the finish feel expensive. It is smoky in the way a wood fire is smoky — distant, dry, not ashy.

Where It Works Best

Living rooms, stairwells, home libraries and any large space with a lot of wood. It is also the scent to run in a room with a fireplace, where it complements rather than competes.

Pairing the Diffuser to the Room

A600 for a living room. A700 or A900 for open-plan or double-height spaces. A300 only if you want a hint of it in a study.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is it a Christmas-tree scent?

No. The pine is cold and resinous rather than sweet; the rose and amber pull it away from holiday candle territory.

Is it strong?

It has good throw. Start with the lowest setting in a large room and add only if the space stays quiet.

Best season?

Autumn and winter, though the pine keeps it usable in summer air conditioning.
