Warm and Milky, Not Sugary

Vanilla scents fail in one of two ways: they smell like a bakery or like a car air freshener. This one avoids both. White peach keeps the vanilla from going flat, orange blossom lifts the middle, and the base — amber with grass and wood — gives it an edge that stops the milk note from dominating. It ends warmer than it starts, but never sweet enough to be cloying.

Sweet at the Top, Dry at the Bottom

• Heart: pure milk and orange blossom — creamy floral
