A Fruit Opening That Settles Into Warm Woods

Kempinski lobbies tend to open bright and close soft, and this oil follows the same arc. Red apple and sweet orange hit first — clean, slightly tart, unmistakably welcoming — then orchid and jasmine take over and the room turns floral for a while. What stays behind is fir and vanilla: a quiet resinous warmth that reads as expensive rather than sweet.

It is a forgiving scent. It works in a small entryway without becoming cloying, and it holds a large reception area without disappearing.

What It Smells Like

• First few minutes: red apple and sweet orange — juicy, clean, a little tart
• Middle: orchid and jasmine — soft white florals, never heavy
• After an hour: fir and vanilla — dry, warm, faintly woody

Most fruity scents collapse into candy in a closed room. The fir note is what stops that here: it gives the dry-down a resinous edge so the room smells composed rather than sugary.

Entrance halls, reception areas, dining rooms and boutiques. In a bedroom, run it for 30 minutes rather than an hour — the opening is stronger than the finish.
